Municipality of Leiden first winner of the Jantje Beton most play-friendly municipality award.
Both the professional jury and the children’s jury praised the attention of the municipality of Leiden to inclusiveness. Tessa (11 years old): “I think it’s important that everyone can play: from young to old, from rich to poor, and if you have a disability.”
In addition, the jury was pleased with the municipality of Leiden’s own play area standard, whereby 10% of the public space is set up as play area.
For the children’s jury, in addition to inclusiveness, play diversity (can you do many different things there?) and safety were important criteria. All this was well reflected in the winning entry, which is why the municipality of Leiden was the first to win this prize for the most play-friendly municipalit.
