Inclusive play makes the world a better place!
My name is Ilse van der Put, for more than 10 years I have been working on Inclusive play with a focus on children with disabilities in the Netherlands and other countries.
I am convinced that inclusive play is the basis for the inclusive society.
Inclusive playgrounds and activities give children the opportunity to meet, get to know each other, learn from each other and make friends. In this way, they grow up together into adults who find it perfectly normal to live and work together.
Although the right to play for all children is mentioned in two UN conventions, the UN Convention on the rights of the children (ratified by 196 countries) and the UN Convention on the rights of persons with disabilities (ratified by 173 countries), for many children with a disability playing together is not yet a reality.
I look forward to working with you to build a more inclusive world. A world where all children have the opportunity to play together.
